THE BATTLE: BASKETBALL SHOWCASE IS BACK

FORT WORTH – Dec. 21, 2020 –The Battle Basketball Showcase is back, featuring eight nationally ranked players for two of the most highly anticipated high school matchups of the year. The Battle, presented by Gold Level Sports and Entertainment, will take place at Dickies Arena in Ft. Worth, Texas on January 9th, 2021.

The first matchup includes two local standout programs, John Paul II and iSchool of Lewisville, where the number one Junior in Texas, Keyonte George will go head to head with the number two and number four players in the state, Manny Obaseki and Jaylon Tyson. The marquee matchup of the event will be a clash between YPSI (YPSI Prep) of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Air Nado (Coronado HS) in the 8 p.m. game. ⁠The Battle will be the only time either of these high-profile matchups occur this season and they can only be seen in Ft. Worth, Texas.  

“Everyone has been awaiting the rescheduled date, as we have the top players in the country excited and ready to compete and we can’t wait to host them in this one-time matchup” said Gold Level Sports & Entertainment CEO, Darren Duncan. 

Both matchups will be televised live on FS1 as part of the multi-event partnership between Gold Level Sports and Entertainment and FOX Sports. This will be FOX Sports’ first nationally televised high school basketball series, with The Battle matchups continuing through 2021.

The health and safety of the players, coaches, fans and staff is our top priority and COVID-19 testing protocols remain in place for all teams prior to participation. There is limited capacity for fans to attend and ticketing will be done while adhering to social distancing measures and group pod seating. A mandatory mask policy will be strictly enforced and temperature checks will be administered at the door.
