Wild Horse Sports Management today announced the launch of LS² | Lone Star Series (pronounced “LS Squared”), a new women’s college basketball platform featuring three games across two Sundays at Dickies Arena during the 2026–27 season.

The inaugural series will feature Texas, Ohio State, TCU and Utah State. The LS² name, short for Lone Star Series, reflects the platform’s Texas-centered identity and its mission to elevate women’s college basketball through premier in-state and national matchups.

The inaugural LS² schedule will begin Sunday, November 22, 2026, with the Women’s Funkytown Showdown with a doubleheader headlined by Texas and Ohio State, with TCU and Utah State meeting in the opening game.

The final game of the series is on Sunday, December 6, 2026 at Dickies Arena when Texas and TCU meet in the Women’s Battle for Texas.

Together, the events will showcase nationally prominent programs, elite student-athletes and compelling regional and national matchups in one of Texas’ strongest basketball markets.

“This is not simply about creating another neutral-site event,” said Dennis Kazimir, Founder of Wild Horse Sports Management. “LS² (Lone Star Series) is being built as a premium women’s basketball platform, one that places the athletes and the game at the center of the experience while creating meaningful opportunities for fans, communities and partners.”

The November 22nd doubleheader at Dickies Arena will bring women’s college basketball to one of the country’s premier sports and entertainment venues. The event will be anchored by a marquee meeting between Texas and Ohio State, two nationally recognized programs with high expectations and some of the sport’s most prominent future WNBA talent.

“In creating our schedule for this season Wild Horse Sports provided us two tremendous opportunities to compete in the state of Texas in the Fort Worth area.  Some of our fans don’t have the opportunity to get to Austin very often, so it was really an easy decision, especially with the chance to play two great opponents in Ohio State and TCU.  Two well coached teams always in the Top 25, always in the NCAA tournament.  Adding these two games along with our existing elite games, it’s another very difficult non-conference schedule,” per Coach Schaefer – Head Coach University of Texas.

“We’re excited to participate in the inaugural Lone Star Series this November. It is important for us to face strong competition during the non-conference schedule and playing Texas, one of the premier women’s basketball programs, will be a great test for our group early in the season,” said Coach McGuff – Head Coach – Ohio State University.

The opening game will feature TCU against Utah State, marking the Horned Frogs’ first of two LS² appearances at Dickies Arena.

“We’re excited to be a part of the inaugural Wild Horse Sports Lone Star Series. Dickies Arena is an incredible venue and provides a tremendous setting for college basketball. Having the opportunity to play two games there gives us another great platform to showcase our program, compete against quality opponents and continue elevating women’s basketball in Fort Worth. We know how passionate TCU fans are, and we’re excited to give them two opportunities to come out and support our team. I have no doubt that our fans and the Fort Worth community will show up in full force and create an incredible atmosphere for both matchups,” said Coach Campbell – Head Coach TCU.

“We are excited to be playing in the Lone Star Series with three other prestigious institutions in TCU, Texas and Ohio State. This event will allow us to represent the Pac-12 and showcase Utah State women’s basketball on a national stage. Events like these are crucial in preparing us for March and the postseason,” stated Coach Brooks – Head Coach Utah State.

Two weeks later, LS² will return to Dickies Arena when Texas and TCU meet in the Women’s Battle for Texas. The December 6th matchup will place two of the state’s leading programs at the center of one of women’s college basketball’s emerging rivalries, celebrating the growth, talent and competitive intensity of the sport throughout Texas.

“This is more than a non-conference game, it has the ingredients to become a signature rivalry in women’s college basketball,” said Kazimir. “The Women’s Battle for Texas gives the matchup its own stage and creates an event that players and fans can look forward to annually.

We’re excited for the opportunity to compete against an incredible program like Texas. It will be a great early-season test for our team and the type of challenge that helps prepare you for March. Playing on a neutral floor will give the game a postseason feel, and these types of marquee matchups are not always easy to put together. We’re especially excited to bring a game of this magnitude to Fort Worth. It’s a special opportunity for our fans and our community to see two great programs compete on a big stage. We expect an incredible atmosphere and look forward to playing in front of a sold-out crowd,” said Coach Campbell – Head Coach TCU.

Wild Horse Sports Management developed LS² as a long-term platform for premium women’s college basketball events. Beyond the games, the series is designed to include community programming, youth engagement, content opportunities and brand activations created for the growing women’s sports audience.

Broadcast information, game times, ticket release details and additional event programming will be announced in the coming weeks.
