“Fort Worth is a proven, easily accessible destination for high-profile events, and we’re excited to add to the growing number of sports and entertainment options at the state-of-the-art Dickies Arena,” said Don Faul, CEO of CrossFit. “The 2024 Games will be anchored at the facility, giving our fans, athletes, partners, and the incredibly strong Texas affiliate community new opportunities to have the experience of a lifetime. Love of sport is in the DNA of most Texans, and we can’t think of a more enthusiastic audience for the Games.”
In addition to the fact that Dallas Fort Worth International Airport will make the event easily accessible for attendees around the world, the move to Dickies Arena will provide CrossFit new opportunities to present the worldwide championship to fans. There will be three standard levels of seating, including additional hospitality and elevated viewing experiences on the four-year-old building’s suite and loge box level. The nearly 30,000-square-foot event floor, depending on seating configuration, will provide the luxury of up to an estimated 10,000-plus seats once the field of play is completed.
“Having a new look and a new venue in a new city will allow us to continue to grow, and that’s what’s needed for the future of our sport,” said Dave Castro, General Manager of Sport and Education at CrossFit. “The move to Fort Worth is the first step for where we want to take the CrossFit Games. Just as we expect our athletes to adjust during competition, we’ll need to do the same as we rethink our execution so that we can bring the Games to not only more cities in the United States, but also consider expansion overseas.”
In addition to the economic impact the CrossFit Games have on host cities, CrossFit is committed to supporting local affiliates, coaches, and community members leading up to the annual world championship.
“Fort Worth is proud to be the host city to welcome the CrossFit Games to Texas for the very first time,” said Mayor of Fort Worth, Mattie Parker. “We look forward to introducing CrossFit athletes to the unexpected art, culture, music, and food that makes Fort Worth so special, along with the world-class event experience at Dickies Arena.”
“This has truly been a collaborative citywide effort to secure the CrossFit Games for the City of Fort Worth,” said Jason Sands, executive director of the Fort Worth Sports Commission. “We are extremely grateful and excited to work with the CrossFit Games team to provide an experience worthy of the world-class CrossFit athletes and fans.”
